Dartmouth is a brown teddy bear, very
grumpy with a deep voice. His friend Cuthbert is a baby green dragon with a
squeaky high voice, warm breath and a very squishy tail. They have adventures
together. Stories for 3-5 year old children, ideally to be read out loud with
correct voices! Each chapter takes about 2.5 minutes to read aloud. The USP is
a fact and joke in every chapter.
The first book comprises 21 stories of their trips in the family car around the
U.K. The family is Mum who drives, Dad works in London every day, Oliver and
Lewis are their five-year-old identical twins. The furry toys sit in the front
seat when taking the boys to school as Oliver and Lewis would argue whose turn
it was to sit there, so they are in the back.
Car adventures take place every time the car is parked and the family get out
leaving Dartmouth and Cuthbert to rub their magic Secret Cap which whisks them
out of the car to funny places.
The Secret Cap whistles when the toys must return to the car before the family
comes.
The toys are often wet or sandy or muddy
when Mum sees them on their seat and doesn’t know how they got like that. We do
though don’t we !!
